Beer Review - Boulevard Brewing Tank 7

Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale

Brewery: Boulevard Brewing
Location: Kansas City, MO
Beer Name: Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale
Style: Saison
ABV: 8%
IBU: 38

The beer was poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a hazy straw yellow with a nice white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma hints of grapefruit, wheat bread, pears, and grass. The flavor starts with a citrus burst, grapefruit and orange zest dominate, with a wheaty, honey biscuit malt backbone that finishes with a fruity, slightly peppery herbal spice. A medium body beer with a nice level of carbonation and slightly dry finish.

Overall a very fine take on a Saison style brew. A nice aroma that speaks for what the beer is going to taste like. Lots of good citrus character with hints of honey, yeasty fruit esters and wheat to balance. A faint level of apple and pear bubblegum is apparent before finishing with some peppery spice. Very nice level of carbonation makes this an easy sipper.
