Beer Review - Boulevard Boss Tom's Golden Bock

Brewery: Boulevard Brewing
Location: Kansas City MO
Beer Name: Boss Tom’s Golden Bock
Style: Maibock
ABV: 6.1%
IBU: 22

The beer was poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a rich golden tone with a quickly dissipating thin head with little to no lacing. The aroma faintly hearkens of sweet malt, lightly toasted bread and a smidgen of grass. The flavor speaks of crisp cereal grains, toasted bread malts, with touch of earthy finishing hops to balance the sweetness. The beer slants towards the lower end of a medium body beer but is finely carbonated.

Overall a middle of the road version of a Maibock style beer. It was very well rounded but nothing seemed to stand out. I thought it could use a bit more sweetness from the malts to really punctuate the flavor of this style. Carbonation was spot on and gave it a nice crisp roundness that made it a very easy drinking beer.
